The Benefits of Supplements

Through this cancer journey, I have learned how important it is to take better care of myself. As a caregiver, it is so easy to forget about yourself.

Benefits of Supplements

As I watched the benefits that Mark was getting from his supplement regimen, I decided it was time for me to take better care of myself. It is important that we take care of our bodies and ensure that we are getting the essential vitamins and minerals needed to stay healthy. While eating a balanced diet is the best way to get all the nutrients you need, sometimes it's not enough. That's where supplements come in. Vitamins and supplements can help fill any gaps in your diet and keep you healthy. Over the last year as we have implemented more and more supplements into our diets we have both seen tremendous benefits, especially Mark through all of his cancer treatments.

My Regimen

“Your Life, Live Well”

After years of taking nothing, I wanted to start with a really good multi-vitamin. After a lot of research and speaking with our nutritionist, I chose 1st Phorm for my multi-vitamin because they are third-party tested which was really important to me. I wanted to know that my vitamins were what they said they were. I take the M-Factor Goddess multi for women. I also take the 1st Phorm Hair, Skin, and Nails Essentials. I started taking this to help keep my nails stronger and my skin tighter. It is packed with vitamin A and Biotin along with many other essential vitamins. I also take Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega 2X, which is a combination of Omega-3 and Vitamin D3.

Mark's Cancer-Fighting Regimen

Mark’s supplement regime is constantly changing as he navigates through his chemo treatment. He is currently on the following:

  • Ultimate Omega 2X. High Omega-3s are crucial for him right now especially

  • Vitamin D3 + K2. This combo has been shown to reduce the number of cancer cells

  • Tru Niagen. Reduces the effects of chemo and increases cancer cell death

  • Tumeric. Reduces inflammation

  • Tart Cherry Extract. Reduce the impact of free radicals and helped tremendously with the accumulation of uric acid build-up in his feet

  • Melatonin. Has helped tremendously with sleep. Especially on chemo days when he can’t get comfortable.

Start your Supplement Regimen

Take care of yourself by adding some vitamins to your morning routine!

A well-balanced healthy diet along with added supplements and vitamins can work wonders on your overall health, mental well-being, and energy level. Even if you just start out with a good multi-vitamin, that is a great start. There is a lot to navigate in the supplement world, a good nutritionist or naturopath can offer a lot of knowledge if you need more information on where to start.
